We knew something must be up because we were stuck in heavy stop and go traffic for around a mile going west. There was no traffic whatsoever in the east bound lanes, so we knew the road must have been blocked by something serious.

This was our view as we approached. Since it was on a bridge/overpass, there was no way for any cars to get around.

Apparently a van pulling a camper, then a Winnebago (hopefully pulling the blue car, below as a toad) then a Van-amino pulling a fifth-wheel trailer were all involved in the accident. (It did not appear that the Winne' was hit on either end, but see below for what I think happened to its Toad.)

I really hope that the blue car was a toad (a car TOWED behind a Winnebago, AKA a "toad"), otherwise I imagine someone would have been very badly hurt in this accident.

The east bound traffic was at a dead stop for just about a mile and a half of tightly packed cars.

You can't see it in the shot, but dozens of people in the lead scores of cars had gotten out to walk ahead and see what had happened.
